Iligan City, Lanao del Norte, February 6, 2026 – Iligan is facing widespread flooding and significant damage following continuous heavy rains brought by Tropical Storm Basyang from the night of February 5 through February 6. Rivers have overflowed, and several communities remain inundated as a result of the prolonged downpour.
Authorities reported that Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal in Lanao del Norte, including Iligan City, has been downgraded from Signal No. 2 to Signal No. 1. While the immediate threat of very destructive winds has passed, strong winds and intermittent rains continue to pose risks to residents and property.
Officials urged the public to stay indoors, avoid flooded areas, and follow local advisories. Emergency services and disaster response teams remain on alert to assist affected communities.
