PAGASA Latest Update – Weather Advisory (Visayas)

PAGASA-Visayas has issued a heavy rainfall warning 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 6, as TS Basyang affects the region. Residents and local authorities are urged to exercise caution due to the risk of serious flooding and landslides.

Red Warning – High Risk:

 • Areas: Bohol, Siquijor, Negros Occidental, Negros Oriental, Cebu

 • Hazard: Serious flooding in low-lying areas; landslides in mountainous regions

Orange Warning – Moderate Risk:

 • Areas: Guimaras, Leyte (Bato, Hilongos, Matalom), Southern Leyte

 • Hazard: Flooding threatening low-lying areas; landslides possible in mountainous regions

Yellow Warning – Low to Moderate Risk:

 • Areas: Biliran; Iloilo (Ajuy, Balasan, Barotac Viejo, Batad, Carles, Concepcion, Estancia, Lemery, San Dionisio, San Rafael, Sara); Samar; Eastern Samar; Capiz; Leyte (Abuyog, Alangalang, Albuera, Babatngon, Barugo, City of Baybay, Burauen, Calubian, Capoocan, Carigara, Dagami, Dulag, Hindang, Inopacan, Isabel, Jaro, Javier, Julita, Kananga, La Paz, Leyte, Macarthur, Mahaplag, Matagob, Mayorga, Merida, Ormoc City, Palo, Palompon, Pastrana, San Isidro, San Miguel, Santa Fe, Tabango, Tabontabon, Tacloban City, Tanauan, Tolosa, Tunga, Villaba)

 • Hazard: Flooding possible in low-lying areas; landslides possible in mountainous regions

Other Areas:

 • Light to moderate, occasionally heavy rains are expected over Palawan (Magsaysay, Cuyo, Agutaya) in the next 1–2 hours.

 • Iloilo (Alimodian, Anilao, Badiangan, Banate, Barotac Nuevo, Bingawan, Cabatuan, Calinog, Dingle, Dueñas, Dumangas, Guimbal, Igbaras, Iloilo City, Janiuay, Lambunao, Leganes, Leon, Maasin, Miagao, Mina, New Lucena, Oton, City of Passi, Pavia, Pototan, San Enrique, San Joaquin, San Miguel, Santa Barbara, Tigbauan, Tubungan, Zarraga), Aklan, Antique, and Palawan (Cagayancillo) may experience similar conditions within 2–3 hours, potentially affecting nearby areas.

Advisory:

The public, local disaster offices, and emergency responders are advised to monitor updates closely and prepare for potential flooding and landslides. The next warning is expected at 2:00 PM today.
