NEWS REPORT: PAGASA-Visayas issued a Heavy Rainfall Warning at 8:00 AM, Friday, February 6, as Tropical Storm Basyang continues to affect large parts of the Visayas. Red Warning remains in effect over areas in Cebu, Negros Occidental, Southern Leyte, Leyte, Bohol, Siquijor, and Negros Oriental, signaling a high risk of serious flooding and landslides.
Several areas are also under Orange and Yellow Warnings, indicating threatening to possible flooding, especially in low-lying and mountainous communities. Light to moderate, at times heavy rains are likewise being experienced in Iloilo, Capiz, Aklan, Antique, and parts of Palawan.
Authorities urge the public and local DRRM offices to stay alert, monitor official advisories, and prepare for possible evacuations. The next bulletin will be issued at 11:00 AM today.
