15 PORTS IN CEBU HAS BEEN SUSPENDED AS OF NOW

Sea travel across 15 ports in Cebu has been suspended, and evacuations are ongoing as authorities prepare for the expected landfall of Tropical Storm #BasyangPH in southern Cebu today. According to the 7 a.m. update from the Cebu Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO), 350 passengers are stranded across various ports, precautionary closures have been implemented in major tourist destinations, and 58 evacuation centers now house 131 families (789 individuals).

Local authorities reported evacuations by area, including Tuburan (82 families/266 individuals), Barili (53 families/220 individuals), Samboan (9 families/100 individuals), Sibonga (26 families/82 individuals), Alegria (24 families/74 individuals), Ginatilan (10 families/33 individuals), Santander (19 individuals), and Sogod (6 ECs activated).

Governor Pamela Baricuatro is closely monitoring the situation at the PDRRMO Command Center in Brgy. Apas, Cebu City, and urged residents to follow official advisories, avoid sea travel, and comply with evacuation directives to ensure public safety as the storm approaches.
