Cebu Province bet Nicole Borromeo highlighted the richness of Cebu’s seas as she showcased her “Reyna sa Kadagatan” ensemble during the National Costume Showcase of Miss Universe Philippines 2026.
Inspired by the province’s marine biodiversity, the costume featured coral-like details, pearls, and flowing elements that echo ocean waves. It also drew influence from well-known natural attractions such as the Sardine Run in Moalboal and Kawasan Falls.
Beyond its visual appeal, the piece reflects the strong connection between Cebuanos and the sea, which continues to support livelihoods and shape local culture.
The presentation served as a tribute to Cebu’s identity as a coastal province, emphasizing resilience, beauty, and harmony with nature.
