Cebu officials conducted inspections and intensified monitoring after the earthquake was felt in parts of northern Cebu, with authorities reporting no major damage as of the latest assessment.

Governor Pamela Baricuatro said she is closely monitoring the situation, noting that provincial offices and local governments remain in constant coordination.

“Our PDRRMO and concerned Capitol departments are in constant communication with me, providing real-time updates. We have also coordinated with our LGUs, especially in northern Cebu, to ensure that any immediate needs are addressed,” Baricuatro said in a Facebook post.

Cebu Acting Governor Glenn Anthony Soco also urged the public to remain cautious following the tremor.

“I hope safe ra ang tanan. Pag-amping lang mo and mag monitor lang ta sa mga developments. Amping ta mga Sugbuanon,” he said in a video message.

At the Cebu Provincial Capitol, the earthquake was strongly felt, prompting the immediate evacuation of employees. The Provincial Engineering Office and disaster response team conducted standard inspections of the Capitol and Legislative buildings, with services resuming only after authorities confirmed it was safe to return.

The Bogo City Government Public Information Office reported that monitoring in the area showed no major damage or injuries as of this writing.

The National Grid Corporation of the Philippines also said power transmission in Cebu remained stable despite the earthquake.

“The grid remains intact as there had been no reported cases of power interruptions and damaged transmission facilities in Cebu Province and nearby areas where the earthquake was felt,” the NGCP said in a statement.

Meanwhile, the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office continues to conduct assessments across affected areas in the province. (SBA)
