Congressman Duke Frasco of the Fifth District of Cebu has publicly appealed to the Governor of Cebu, urging the provincial government to deploy heavy equipment and clearing assistance to the municipality of Liloan which continues to struggle with the aftermath of Typhoon Tino.

In a statement posted online, the Congressman emphasized that while the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), the Liloan LGU and the private sector have been conducting clearing operations since November 5, the Province of Cebu has yet to provide any heavy machinery such as excavators, payloaders or bulldozers.

“Stop politicking and start governing,” Frasco stated, calling for unity among Cebuanos. He stressed that the municipality urgently needs tangible ground support over “cameras or social media teams’ attacks.”

He emphasized that despite political differences, Liloan remains part of Cebu and its residents are in dire need of assistance. He warned that it is the people who ultimately suffer when politics hinders the delivery of essential aid.
